Even organizers have to take time to organize their stuff. This week I took some time with my storage shelves. During and after the holidays there is a certain amount of “dumping” that happens on and around those shelves. So there was a maintenance appointment scheduled. I put on some music that makes me happy and went at it!
Just like your car needs maintenance, so does your home. A lot of times a “ten minute tidy” at the end of the day is enough, sort of like an oil change. But sometimes, you need more than that. Sometimes you need change the filters or rotate the tires. You set aside time to do that, because your car is typically the biggest purchase you make, outside of your house. It’s an investment in your car’s future. Keeping the things in your home organized is also an investment in your future.
For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned. ~ Benjamin Franklin
“Where are my tennis shoes?”
“Has anyone seen my keys?”
“Can you call my phone. I can’t find it.”
“Where is my backpack?”
“I can’t find any clean socks.”
“Oh, there’s the scissors! I just bought another one because I couldn’t find them!”
If these phrases sound all too familiar in your home, maybe it’s time to rotate the tires, or at the very least, change the oil. (And putting on your favorite play list doesn’t hurt, either

.)
You’ve got this!
